CPSIA Section 104 Compliance

LAUREL, New Jersey and CLEARWATER, Florida, May 22, 2009 – The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) that is to be voted on by the Commissioners on May 28, 2009 and then published in the Federal Register that establishes the requirements for the Requirements for Consumer Registration of Durable Infant Products as required in Section 104(d) and effective August 14, 2009. Tracking Labels on Children’s Products are required as of August 14, 2009
Washington D.C and CLEARWATER, Florida, May 14, 2009 – The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) affirmed yesterday that the effective date for statutory compliance with the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) requirement for tracking labels remains August 14, 2009. Section 103 of the law requires manufacturers to provide a tracking label or other distinguishing permanent mark on any consumer product primarily intended for children twelve and younger, including registration and enhanced awareness.
